Well friends. At last I have got to write to you. I was very upset at not being able to let you have any news before now, but amazing things have been happening to me.

You remember how I went to the States by air ? Well, believe it or not, I got on the wrong plane. I got on the plane for Canada instead, a country just to the north of the States. I still don't understand how it happened, but there you are, I'm just not used to being in airports ......

So I arrived at Dorval Airport in Montreal, in the province of Quebec. This is the only french speaking province of Canada. That made me think of my french friends, so I'm staying here for a while. But where should I stay ? I looked at a map of Quebec and decided to go to Saint-Hyacinthe, about 30 minutes from Montreal. Once I got to Saint-Hyacinthe I wanted to find a school. So, I chose Lafontaine School, because that made me think of the stories of Jean de la Fontaine. (hee, hee, hee).I got on the bus and found it.

I arrived on Friday December 11th at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

Fortunately, Sylvie, the teacher of the Reception class, was there, but the children had gone home. She was delighted to welcome me in and asked me to spend a little time with her and her friends. I was really pleased to accept her invitation, because I wanted to see how they spent Christmas in Quebec.

So I met all the children on Monday.

As well as this, I have been trying to find all my baggage, because you see, when I got on the wrong plane I lost it all. I was really upset, because all my things are really precious to me, and I want to tell you, it is really cold in Quebec. I would have liked to have my blue clothes, you remember, the present from my English friends. To make matters worse, the first snow of the season fell the night before I arrived. I hoped that Sylvie would help me find something really quickly. I didn't want to catch a bad cold, especially just before Christmas.

Well that's all for now, I'm going to have a bit of a rest. I can't wait to see the children again tomorrow, I'm sure that they'll be full of ideas about Christmas. I'm also longing to hear news of you all because I miss you all so much.

Have a great big hug from me!!

See you,

Max
